FAUST -  sounds stunning with a huge cast (over 100!), amazing effects and age old dilemma of choice…

THE RETURN OF ULYSSES  - original, creative dance version , inventive and ecectic - combines Purcell with 40’s and 50’s music, by the Royal Ballet of Flanders

IL RITORNO D’ULYSSES - another version with puppet plus singers, musicians etc  and film  with a South African theme produced by the artist, William Kentridge. Highly recommended by Muriel

THE YALTA GAME by the great Irish playwright Brian Friel

USHER HALL CONCERTS  - always a treat. Concerts to choose from include:

Philharmonica Orchestra playing Bartok. Debussy etc

Orchestra of the Enlightenment playing Haydn

Scottish National Orchestra  playing Romeo and Juliet

All this – plus the thousands of fringe events and book festival talks and exhibitions to choose from to fill in any gaps in your time!
