The Edfest Summer School will take place at the Edinburgh Festival from 13 - 17 August and 20 - 24 August 2008.

Day 1 6.00 pm Meet at residence
13th 7.30 pm State ballet of Georgia (music live traditional; then Stravinsky, Bizet, Gluck)
  10.00 pm Dinner together

Day 2 9.00 Introduction to theatre event (eg Greek play, Pygmalion)
14th  10.15 Break
Tutorial  10.45 Literature tutorial (for tmas)
day  12.30 pm Lunch
  2.30 pm Art history tutorial or skills session
  8.00 pm Theatre (play to be decided)

Day 3 9.00 Introduction to concert
15th 10.15 Tutorial
     
  12.30 pm Lunch
  2.30 pm Gallery outing
  8.00 pm Prokofiev concert: London Symphony Orchestra

Day 4 9.00 Introduction to Steve Reich evening and our poetry event
16th 10.45 Edfest Day

We'll be adding at least one optional event (Fringe)


Treats this summer include the International Festival brings world famous dance companies, orchestras with soloists etc - the Steve Reich evening and a surprise Fringe theatre outing on Day 2. Plus an exhibition / art gallery visit, optional book festival lecture, etc.

The programme from 20 - 24th August
will offer the same tutorial programme plus the rare chance to hear the extraordinary Bucharest Festival Orchestra play gypsy music and Brahms etc, the East-West theatre company in Class Enemy, Matthew Bourne's dance theatre event, Dorian Gray - and some surprise events, plus a visit to an art gallery / exhibition, book festival lecture etc - and of course our own poetry event with food and wine on the 16th.
