Accommodation
Accommodation is in student rooms in the pleasant campus site of Pollock Hall (18 Holyrood Park road). We book single rooms with shared facilities. On campus there is also a bar, coffee bar and restaurant where we have breakfast.
Internet is available as is wi-fi facilities.
Pollock Hall lies next to the beautiful Holyrood Park where, if you are feeling energetic, you can walk, jog or climb up to Arthur’s Seat which has magnificent views over the city.)
How to get there
We advise you to make your travel arrangements to Edinburgh as soon as possible. Flights tend to book up but there are a range of alternatives. E.g. You could fly to Glasgow or Newcastle and take the train to Edinburgh. The train from London takes less than 5 hours so you could fly to London and come up by train depending on where you are coming from.
Flights
All these companies offer low cost flights to Edinburgh from UK, Ireland and Europe (although they don’t all fly every day).
Trains
Trains leave London Kings Cross every hour, with a journey time of less than 5 hours.
Buses
Frequent and cheap, National Express offers services throughout the UK.
On arrival
- TRAIN
Trains arrive at Waverly Station, less than 15 minutes walk from the University. A cab (a taxi rank is located inside the station next to Platform 11) to the University will cost around £4. Local buses (14, 30, 33, 48) pass near the staion.
- FLIGHTS
Edinburgh airport is located about a 20 minute drive west of the city centre. A cab from the airport to the University should cost £15-£20, depending on the time of day. Lothian Region Transport operates a frequent Airline bus from the airport to Waverley train stations (£5 return fare).
- BY COACH / BUS
Coaches arrive in St Andrews Square located almost directly across Princes St from the Waverley Train Station. St Andrews Square is a 20 minute walk from the University.
